Harry C. Hansen Killed in Crash

Harry C. Hansen, 20, of Thermopolis, grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Anton Hansen and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Demmer all of Lusk, was killed in a car-truck accident west of Casper Friday. A friend, Earl Liebsack, was also killed in the accident. The boys were members of the National Guard and were returning from Minneapolis, Minn. to attend National Guard Camp at Guernsey.

Joint funeral services for the boys were held at the Mortimore Chapel in Thermopolis Tuesday.

Funeral services for Harry Hansen will be held at the Peet Chapel at 2:00 p.m. Thursday with the Rev. Gode officiating. A quartet composed of Miss Phyllis Johns, Mrs. Samuel M. Thomas, Gerald Bardo and Dale M. Bardo will sing "Be Still My Soul" and "Abide With Me" with Mrs. Gerald Bardo as organist. Pall bearers are: David, Ray and Ralph Bredthauer, Rex Van Blarcum, Clarence Hubbard and Stanley Hansen. Interment will be in the Lusk Cemetery.

Harry Charles Hansen, son of Carl and Bertha Demmer Hansen, was born July 16, 1939 at Keeline. He lived in Niobrara County until 1948 when the family moved to Thermopolis. During his high school years he became very interested in newspaper work when he was employed at the Thermopolis Independent Record. Graduating in 1958, he attended Casper Junior College one year, working at a printing shop part time. He and his friend had been employed in a printing shop in Minneapolis for a year.

Mr. Hansen was very active in the work of the church. In June, 1954 he was confirmed and became a communicant member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Thermopolis. Joining the National Guard in 1957, he had attained the rank of specialist 4th class.

Survivors include his parents; a brother Harold, his grandparents and numerous other relatives.
