Ada Blanche Erlewine
Services for Ada Blanche Erlewine were at the Peet Mortuary Chapel in Lusk, March 9. Officiating was Rev. Roy Howell,
Music was Minerva Watson, organist and James Willson, sang "In the Garden" and "How Great Thou Art".
Active bearers were John DeGering, William Dockery, Phil Brewster, Charles Heumier, Joe Andrews and Harold Allbright.
Blanche died Thursday morning at the Niobrara Memorial Hospital in Lusk. She was born January 14, 1909 in Council Bluffs, Iowa, the daughter of Samuel H. and Ada McKinney Erlewine. The family moved to Van Tassell in 1913. She attended schools in Van Tassell and Lusk. She then worked at the drugstore and at "Best Groceries" in Van Tassell. The family moved to Lusk in 1930. She later worked at the "Golden Rule" in Lusk. In 1952 she began work as the office manager for Wasson Chevrolet, a job she continued for 27 years, retiring in 1980. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, five brothers, and two nephews.
Survivors include; two sisters-in-law, Lucille Erlewine and Verda Erlewine, both of Lusk; two nephews Ted Erlewine of Rapid City and Sam Erlewine of Lusk; five nieces, Betty Golden of Harrison, Nebr., Gladys Stellphlug of Ft. Laramie, Garnet Heckert of Van Tassell, Shelia Kolvites of Brighton, Colo. and Linda Johnson of Yuma, Ariz.; numerous great nieces and nephews and several great-great-nieces and nephews.
