Thomas C. Mason
A Christian wake service was held at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 2, 1992, at Huston Funeral Home in Lebanon, Ore., for Thomas C. Mason, 61. He died Monday, June 29, 1992. Funeral Mass was at 11 a.m. Friday, July 3, at St. Edward's Catholic Church with Father John Murphy officiating. Burial was in the Lebanon IOOF Cemetery.
Mason was born in Bayard, Neb., the son of Floyd and Mabel Mason.
He served in the Marine Corps during the Korean conflict.
When he was 25, he moved to Sidney, Neb., and worked as a civil defense ammunitions depot.
He married Leona Johnston May 25, 1959, in Sidney. They moved to Anchorage, Alaska, in 1965, and he continued to work in civil defense. He retired in 1977 and they moved to Lebanon. They spent one year in Wyoming, returning to Lebanon this year.
Mason belonged to St. Edward's Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and American Legion Post No. 51. He liked to travel and collected hats and pins.
Surviving are his wife, Leona, of Lebanon; son Perry of Lusk, Wyo.; daughter, Debra Tillotson of Pocatello, Idaho; parents, Floyd and Mabel Mason of Bayard, Neb.; brother, Richard Mason of Wheatland, Wyo.; sister, June Himan of Bayard, Neb. and four grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Edward's Catholic Church, in care of the funeral home, 86 W. Grant St., Lebanon, Ore. 97355.
