Lillie M. McCune

Services for Lillie M. McCune, 87, of Sheridan, WY were held May 16, 1988 at Peet Mortuary Chapel in Lusk. She died May 12 at Eventide Nursing Home in Sheridan where she had lived the past four years.

She was born December 2, 1900 near Newport, NE, the daughter of Frank and Olie Carlisle. In June of 1922 she married James McCune at O'Neill, NE. They moved to Lusk in 1928. In 1980 she began spending the winters in Sheridan with her daughter.

Mrs. McCune was a member of the Baptist Church, the VFW Auxiliary, and Homemakers Club, all of Lusk. She loved her family, enjoyed sewing and doing fancy work, and in her later years had started painting.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1958, four brothers and seven sisters.

She is survived by three daughters; Virginia Kant of Lusk, Shirley Zeglin of Sheridan, and Caroline Meline of Salt Lake City, UT; seven grandchildren, two step grandchildren; one great-granddaughter, three step great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorials to the Sheridan First United Methodist Church or to the Lusk First Baptist Church would be appreciated.

Peet Mortuary was in charge of the arrangements.
