Olive Shoults Dies Friday, Service Monday
Funeral service was held Monday, March 20, at Torrington for Mrs. James (Olive) Shoults, 81, who died at her home in Torrington March 17.
The Rev. Robert J. Ware officiated and burial was in the cemetery at Jay Em. A memorial to the heart fund has been established by the family.
Olive Agnes Bailey was born in Phillipsburg, Kan., Nov. 4, 1890, to Tom and Alice "Jessup" Bailey. She grew up in Grand Valley, Colo., and finished school in Grand Junction, Colo.
She married James Alan Shoults in Glenwood Springs, Colo., Sept. 12, 1913. They homesteaded seventeen miles north of Guernsey in 1913, moved to Casper in 1922, to Jay Em in 1928 and to Torrington in 1944. She was a member of the United Presbyterian Church, the Royal Neighbors and the KYN Club.
She is survived by her husband James, of Torrington, two sons, Rex of Van Tassell and Wes of Torrington, one daughter, Mrs. James M. (Thelma) Harris of Jay Em, two sisters, Mrs. Eva Wetzel of Lemon Grove, Calif., and Mrs. Maude Cline of Glenwood Springs, Colo.; two brothers Earl Bailey and Vern Bailey both of Grand Valley, Colo., seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. A son, Donald, two brothers and a sister died previously.
