Betty Sullivan dies here

Elizabeth "Betty" Sullivan died suddenly March 2. Funeral service was held March 5 in the Peet Mortuary Chapel at 10:00 a.m. with the Rev. Dwayne Axworthy of Casper officiating.

Mrs. Edna DeCastro, organist, accompanied Sheryl Jugler as she sang "How Great Thou Art" and "Sweet Hour of Prayer."

Honorary bearers were Otto Krekeler, C. E. Marvin, Harry Lyon, Lloyd Coleman, Ab DeCastro, Paul Morgan and Herbert Klindt.

Casket bearers were Norman Brillhart, Howard Haworth, L. T. Bonner, Terry Griffith, William Allen, and Ray Taylor. Burial was in the Lusk Cemetery.

Elizabeth Georgeanna Sullivan was born May 16, 1904, at Kingston, Nova Scotia, Canada, to John and Lizzie Aldred.

Nov. 20, 1920, she married Fred William Sullivan and of this marriage eight children were born. In 1923 the family moved from Nova Scotia to Massachusetts and from there to New Hampshire in 1936. After a visit to Wyoming in 1941 the family moved to Lusk in 1948.

Sullivans owned and operated the Sully's Taxi Service in Lusk until 1955. Mrs. Sullivan then worked as a waitress here from 1955 until her death.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lusk and the Jenny Adams Circle. She was also a member of the Legion Auxiliary. Betty had traced her ancestry back to John and Pricilla Alden, in the 1600's.

She was preceded in death by her husband Fred W. Sullivan, Sr., who died Dec. 2, 1955, and her sixth child, a daughter Audrey who died in 1941 at the age of 3 months.

She is survived by seven children: Genevieve Connacher, Connecticut, Mary Carpenter, Lusk, Fred Sullivan, Manville, Jim Sullivan, Calif., Lila Langis, Massachusetts, Judy Jennwein, Casper, and Linda Bayne, Manville; 27 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
