Charlie Loren Reese
Services for Charlie Loren Reese, 81, were held Tuesday, Dec. 12, 1984 at 10:30 a.m. at the Converse Funeral Chapel in Douglas with Pastor Les Ray of the Manville Community Church officiating. Interment was in the Douglas Park Cemetery.
Mr. Reese died Saturday, Dec. 8, 1984 at the memorial Hospital of Natrona County following a short illness.
Charlie the son of George and Grace Farley Reese was born Feb. 4, 1903 in Logan, Kan. At the age of eleven his parents homesteaded south of Shawnee in 1914.
Following elementary school, the family moved to Logan, Kan. where he attended and graduated from Logan High School, he then attended Grand Island Business School.
The family then moved to Mountain Grove, Missouri. He was married to Roberta K. Vining on March 5, 1931 at Mountain Grove. They traveled to Wyoming in a Model T Ford, where they enjoyed ranching and many hobbies on the family homestead. He was active with ranching up until the time of his death.
He attended the Manville Community Church.
He is survived by his wife, Roberta, of Shawnee; his son, Charles and wife Cheri of Shawnee; his daughter, Rita Koeplin, and husband, Jerry of Cheyenne; brother, Leonard of Shawnee; and six grandchildren, Cheryl, Norman, Brett and Brad Reese all of Shawnee and Todd and Marc Koeplin of Cheyenne.
Serving as pallbearers were Larry Eddy, Fay Edison, Major Brown, Bill Nuttall, Ivan Eddy and Wilber Wright.
A memorial has been established to the Manville Community Church.
The Converse Funeral Chapel of Douglas was in charge of the arrangements.
