Services for Ruth Janette Kilmer, age 98, will be held on Thursday, June 27 at 2 o'clock at the First Baptist Church in Lusk.
Mrs. Kilmer died of natural causes on June 22 in Casper. She was born October 6, 1914, in Morrill, Nebraska to Silas Medlin and Mamie Stockwell Medlin.
Ruth married Venus C. Kilmer of Arnold, Nebraska in 1935. They moved to Lusk in 1937. Ruth was the loving partner of Venus in the management of the Kilmer Dairy Farm and the Silver Springs Ranch until his death in 1994. They raised two sons, Karvin and Rick. Ruth remained on the ranch until 2003, when she moved to Douglas to be closer to her son.
She enjoyed candle making and oil painting, and loved to travel. She enjoyed group trips sponsored by the Lusk Senior Center, and especially remembered a trip to Branson, MO.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, husband Venus, son Karvin, one sister, and two brothers.
Survivors include son Rick (Sharon) of Douglas; Daughter-in-Law Rene of Evergreen, CO; grandchildren Kary and Kendal of Denver, Derren of Douglas, Alisa (Jeff) Comstock of Craig, CO, and three great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Lusk Senior Center.
