Ethel Browder Dies, Funeral in Torrington

Funeral service for Mrs. Ethel Browder, 80, of Torrington was held October 16 at 10:00 a.m. at the United Presbyterian Church in Torrington. Mrs. Browder died at a Scottsbluff hospital October 13.

The Rev Robert J. Ware conducted the service with burial at the Valley View Cemetery. A memorial has been established to the cancer fund.

Ethel Maude was born in Wayne, Neb., April 2, 1892, to Perry and Rosella "Bennett" Benshoof and homesteaded with her parents near Prairie Center in 1913. She organized the first Sunday School class in Prairie Center in her parents' home.

June 13, 1915, she married Arthur Eugene Browder at a ceremony held at her parent's home. She was a member of the Extension Club at Jay Em and a former member of the Prairie Center Club. She was a member of the United Presbyterian Church and taught piano lessons for many years.

Mrs. Browder is survived by a daughter, Helen Bower of Torrington, a son Verne Browder of Lusk, two sisters, Mrs. Reuben (Ruby) Hahn of Torrington and Inez Benshoof of Jay Em, one brother, Lundy Benshoof of Spokane, Wash., and five grandchildren. Her husband died in 1970. One brother and her parents also died previously.
