Ida (Klemke) Lamb, 91, died Feb. 21, 1997, at box Butte General Hospital in Alliance, Neb. Funeral services were Feb. 25, 1997, at United Methodist Church in Hemingford. The Rev. Norma Jean Andrews Andrews officiated. Burial was in the Hemingford Cemetery. Memorials are to the Hemingford Comminuty Care Center.

She was born Sept. 8, 1905, to Constantine and Martha Klemke at their homestead 13 miles southwest of Hemingford, Neb. She grew up there with six brothers and three sisters, all of whom preceded her in death. She worked at Cotton's Drug store in Hemingford and married her first husband, Jess Zimmerman June 5, 1929. they worked at many jobs during the Depression, including cooking for a Union Pacific bridge crew in Wyoming and Utah. They settled in Mankato, Kan., where their home was destroyed by a tornado in 1955. He died in June 1955. In 1956, she moved to Mesa, Ariz., where she worked in the Newberry store. She married Wendell Lamb, a Canadian farmer, Dec. 8, 1968. They spent summers in Canada and winters in Arizona until 1972, when they sold the farm and moved to Mesa. He died in 1984. She moved back to Hemingford in 1985 to be near her surviving brothers and sisters. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Rebekah Lodge.

Survivors include sister-in-law Mabel Klemke of Hemingford; brothers-in-law Ervin Rogowski of Hemingford, Merle Lamb of Durant, Okla., and John Lamb of Mesa; and 25 nieces and nephews.

Bates-Gould Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
