Services for Franklin John Woyak III, 17, were May 10, 1997, at the First Wyoming Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Glenn Bugher officiating. Burial was in Valley View Cemetery. memorials are to the Torrington Fire Department or rescue unit of the donor's choice. He died in a swimming accident at Pioneer Park in Torrington.
He was born Nov. 29, 1979, to Franklin John and Rhonda Rogean (Zimmerman) Woyak, Jr. in Torrington. He was a sophomore at Torrington High School, where he participated in many sports, which he loved.
He was an avid sportsman and hunter, and especially like racing and demo derbys.
He loved being in the pit at races and helping to work on the cars with his dad. Last year, he built his own demo car and entered it at Mitchell, Neb., fairgrounds during the county fair and came in first in his heat.
He was a very outgoing person and very considerate of his grandparents and elders, helping all who might need his services. He was impish, mischievous and was loved by all who knew him.
Survivors include his parents; sisters Leslie and her husband Adam Owens of Torrington, Roxanna and her husband Troy Stockton of Cheyenne and Darla Mae Woyak of Torrington; nieces Jessica Woyak, Alex Owens and Alexis Stockton; nephews Zachery Stockton and Harley Owens; grandparents Frank S. and May Woyak of Torrington, Darlene and Dennis Gulley of Lusk and Harold and Dora Zimmerman of Crosbyton, Texas; 21 aunts; 21 uncles; numerous cousins; and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by one aunt and three cousins.
