Blankenship Services Held in Lusk Friday

Funeral services for Frank E. Blankenship were held at the Peet Chapel at 2:00 p.m. Friday with the Rev. Frank Bozart in charge.

Mrs. Emerson Bonner and Mrs. Lyle Eddy sang "Beyond the Sunset" and "In the
Garden." Mrs. J.P. Watson was organist. Pallbearers were: J.W. Allsup, Art Joss, Marvin Skillings, Alvin Alexander, Lloyd Tschacher and Oscar Alexander. Burial was in the Manville cemetery.

Frank E. Blankenship, the son of Floyd W. and Rosa Blankenship, was born November 17, 1882 in Harrison County, Mo. He came to Manville April 16, 1918 where he operated a cafe until 1925. billiard parlor until 1929. In partnership with J.W. Allsup, he operated a billiard parlor until 1929. Mr. Blankenship and Mr. Johnson operated a grocery store until 1930, at which time Mr. Blankenship bought Mr. Johnson's interest. He continued to run the store until April 1956 when, because of ill health, he sold the store to Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Alexander. He lived alone in his home west of Manville.

Survivors include two nieces and a nephew in California.

Frank E. Blankenship, a/k/a Francis Blankenship, was raised on the family farm in northern Missouri. His father died when he was 19 years old. He and his siblings managed the farm for his mother after his father's death. He and his brother John lived for a while in Davies County, MO. He had various jobs including proprietor of a grocery store and manager of a rock quarry. He lived much of his adult life with his older brother John, a farmer.

Frank's siblings: John W.; Alice A. Tackett; Flanery E.; Marvin Hendrix; Cleveland Tabor; Alva Wesley; Oliver Edward; and Peter Floyd.
