Oscar Alexander

Graveside memorial services for Oscar Alexander, 86, will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 14, at Dellview Cemetery in Manville by Reverend Mark Lohr of Lusk Church of Christ.

He died Feb. 10 in Glenrock. He was born July 14, 1915 in North Platte, Nebraska, the son of George and Rena (Valentine) Alexander. In 1916 the family moved to a homestead in Muskrat Canyon near Manville. They moved into Manville in 1927 where he attended school, graduating from Manville High.

In 1941 he married Bette Allsup. He was inducted into the U.S. Army in February 1942, where he served in England and France and for two years in Iceland until he was honorably discharged in 1945.

Survivors include his wife of Glenrock; one daughter, Patsy, and her husband Gurney McLean of Glenrock; three grandchildren , Stan and his wife ; Rebel and his wife, all of Casper, Ronda Hansen of Glenrock ; three great-grandchildren , Chance and Jackson McLean and Colter Hansen; a sister Esther Bartos of Lusk; a brother, Alvin Alexander of Torrington, and numerous other relatives.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Leo and Floyd and his parents.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorials to Lusk Senior Center, Central Wyoming Hospice or a charity of the donor's choice.

Bustards Funeral Home and Crematory was in charge of local arrangements.
