Hilda Eberspecher dies

Hilda Eberspecher, Harrison resident since 1950, died Dec. 4. Funeral service was held at the Methodist Church Friday.

The Rev. Wayne Tieszen officiated. Mrs. Dorothy Todd, organist, accompanied Mrs. Louise Serres, Mrs. Carol Mumby, Mrs. Roberta Shockley, Mrs. Irene Phipps and Miss Lyn Doering as they sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "In the Garden".

Pallbearers were Bill Bourret, Tom Broderick, Keith Zimmerman, Jerry Eberspecher, Dale DeHaven and John Carnahan. Burial was in the Harrison cemetery.

Special tribute was paid to Miss Eberspecher by two of her nieces who wrote poems. Wilma Eberspecher's poem was entitled "Aunt Hildie," and the last stanza read:
Yes, we'll miss Aunt Hildie,
She's at her final rest;
When He called on her last Tuesday,
He picked one of the best.
Winifred Jane Lewis chose for her tribute a poem she entitled, "Canvas".

The Eberspecher family memorialized Hilda Eberspecher by saying, "She was a loving and helping daughter, sister, aunt, friend, advisor and counselor to all her family and extra special to a multitude of friends."

Hilda Mae Eberspecher was born in Sioux County, Nebr., on Sept. 30, 1893, the fourth child of thirteen, to John Christian Eberspecher and Frances Jane (Hill). She lived the earlier years of her life in the Bodarc Community and in 1950 moved to Harrison where she resided until her sudden death. She was a life-long member in the Methodist Church and active in W.S.C.S.

Surviving are her four sisters, Millie Zimmerman, Bertha Parsons and Fern Bourret, all of Harrison and Alma Henry of Lusk; two brothers, Ted Eberspecher of Lusk and John E. Eberspecher of Harrison; 45 nephews and nieces, 116 great-nephews and nieces and 67 great-grand nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her mother on March 13, 1943, her father on Sept. 30, 1946, six brothers, Charlie, John, Henry, Tom, Chris, and Frank, five great nephews and nieces and one great-grand niece.
