L. R. "Steve" Elliott

Word has been received that L. R. "Steve" Elliott, uncle of Ernie Lemons of Lusk, and a former Lusk resident, died Monday, July 9 at the age of 72 in Tulsa, Okla.

Elliott was born July 4, 1918 in Oklahoma to H. M. and Mary Elliott. He was a WWII veteran and served with the 610th Tank Destroyer Battalion with Gen. George Patton's Third Army in the Battle of the Bulge.

He was the recipient of a Bronze Star for Bravery in the Battle of the Bulge.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dee, his mother and father, two brothers and two sisters.

He is survived by four sons; Rick, R. C., Jimmy and Ronnie and several grandchildren.
