Thomas L. Eutsler

Private family services were held for Thomas L. Eutsler, 66 who died at Community Hospital in Torrington on March 3, 1995. Memorial gifts to the Community Hospital would be appreciated by the family.

Mr. Eutsler was born April 28, 1928, twenty miles outside Manville, Wyoming, the son of William and Hazel (Meeker) Eutsler. He grew up and received his education in Manville.

In 1950, he entered the Army and served in the Korean Conflict. He was discharged in 1952 and worked for one year at a sawmill in Newcastle, Wyoming. On October 30, 1953 he married Rose Truman in Cheyenne, Wyoming and they made their home in Torrington where he was employed by the State of Wyoming Highway Department as an engineer. He retired in 1983.

He was a member of Travis Snow Post #5 of the American Legion and the Paul A. Johnston Post #2918 of Veterans of Foreign Wars. He is survived by his wife, Rose, of Torrington; sons Jerry Lightman of London, Arkansas; Daniel Lightman of Torrington; Raymond Lightman of Cody, Wyoming; and Larry Eutsler of Oshkosh, Nebraska; two daughters, Barbara Latta and Linda Eutsler, both of Torrington; six sisters, Orabelle Martin of Missouri; Bertha Sipes of Lubbock, Texas; Mary Deuel of Lusk, Wyoming; Betty Truman of Beaverton, Oregon; Billie Arnold and Pat Trout of Torrington; four brothers, Edward and Richard, both of Upton, Wyoming; Bob of California; and Jim. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

The Colyer Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Note: Tom had his ashes scattered on the grounds of the old Eutsler Homestead 17 miles NW of Manville, Niobrara County, Wyoming.
