Rodney W. Fullmer
A memorial service for Rodney W. Fullmer, 51, was held at 10 a.m. Monday, September 11, 1995, at the First Wyo. United Presbyterian Church with Reverend Carl Christensen officiating. Memorial gifts may to be directed to the American Diabetes Association, or Rod Fullmer Memorial, for Eastern Wyoming College Rodeo Scholarship. Rod died September 7, 1995, at Torrington.
He was born April 21, 1944, the son of Leeland and Mary Ellen (Haas) Fullmer and was raised on the family farm near Veteran. He graduated from Veteran High School in 1962 and then attended Goshen County Community College. He and Boni Lenhart were married in Scottsbluff, Neb., on February 20, 1964, and they made their home in Torrington for two years. In 1966 they moved to Worland where Rod started work as an agriculturist for Holly Sugar Corporation. He also worked at Lusk and Torrington before returning to Worland as an agriculture manager. In 1979 he was transferred to Torrington where he was agriculture manager.
During his spare time Rod liked to cowboy with Bill Poage. He loved his horse, Ben, and was avid gardener and golfer. He enjoyed being with children.
He was a member of the First Wyoming United Presbyterian Church in Torrington and had been an elder and deacon of the Presbyterian Church in Worland. His community involvement included Past President of Torrington Rotary Club, Cottonwood Country Club and Cottonwood Estates Homeowners Association. He served on the Goshen County Economic Development Committee; was a past member of the Goshen County School Board of District #1, Goshen County Water Development Association, Chamber of Commerce and the Cowboy Joe Club. At Holly he was a member of the Regular Employees Benefit Association; leader, TQM Steering Committee at the Torrington factory; member of the Holly-Grower Joint Research Trust Fund Committee and ASSBT. He attended BSI Institute in Fort Collins, Colo., and Ammerman Experience in Houston, Texas.
He is survived by his wife, Boni, of Torrington; daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth "Betsy" and Duncan Collar, of Aurora, Colo.; son, Cody Fullmer of Cody; his parents, Leeland and Mary Ellen Fullmer of Torrington; two brothers, James of St. Charles, Ill., and Russell of Worland; and one sister, Patricia of Denver, Colo. He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
The Colyer Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
