Phebe M. Fraser

Services for Phebe M. Fraser, age 82, were held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday in the Peet Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Scott Grimshaw officiating. Burial followed in the Lusk Cemetery.

Mrs. Fraser died Wednesday, June 14, 1989, at the Niobrara County Memorial Nursing Home in Lusk. She was born February 6, 1907, near DeSmet, South Dakota, the daughter of Bert and Lucetta Roberts. The family moved to Van Tassell in 1909 where Phebe attended school and grew to womanhood. She married Stanley Fraser in 1928 and they lived in Van Tassell, later moving to Keeline and Lance Creek. Mr. Fraser died in 1946 and in 1948 Phebe moved the family to Lusk. For many years she did housework for several people. She entered the Nursing Home in September of 1985.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, two sisters, and one brother.

Survivors include: two sons, Stanley Fraser of Casper and Phil Fraser of Tribune, Kansas; three daughters: Grace Leona Townsend of Escondido, Calif., two sisters, Myrtle Gusman of Bridgeport, Nebraska and Hazel Coleman of China Lake, Calif.; seventeen grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.

For those who wish, memorials to the Niobrara County Memorial Nursing Home will be appreciated by the family.
