Thomas Eutsler, Long-time Nio. Resident, Dies

Thomas Earl Eutsler, 84, a resident of Wyoming since 1889, died last Thursday, Dec. 3 at the Converse County Memorial Hospital in Douglas. Funeral services were held from the Peet Mortuary in Lusk Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. The Rev. Dallas Swisher of Casper officiated. Burial was in the Manville Cemetery.

Mrs. Ab DeCastro, organist, accompanied the Rev. and Mrs. Richard Korns of Manville as they sang "Rock of Ages" and "The Old Rugged Cross".

Casket bearers were Tom Eutsler, Jim Eutsler, William E. Dryer, Edward Dryer, Darrell Deuel and Hal Bowlds.

Honorary bearers were Sam Thomas Sr., John Alters, Arthur Thompson, Ralph Berg, Dick Lee, Dave Bryant, Ray Baughn, and Mick Coen.

He was born June 2, 1886, in a tent at a cattle camp near what was then Bluffton, Kans., and is now Tescott, to Charles A. and Millie L. Eutsler. He came to Glendo with his parents and two brothers in 1889 and moved to Manville in 1903. He homesteaded on Little Lightning north of Manville in 1910, and operated this ranch with his father and brothers until his mother died in 1939 after which the ranch was sold. After that he worked as a ranch hand at several different places in Wyoming until he retired in 1954. He lived in Lusk until moving to Michael Manor in Douglas two years ago. He never married.

His parents and six brothers died previously.

Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Bertha Dryer of Manville and Mrs. Pearl Bowlds of Livingston, Mont.; and many nieces and nephews.
