Lucille Erlewine, age 85, of Lusk passed away on July 26, 2000, at her daughter's home in Wellington, Colorado, following a brief illness. Funeral services were scheduled for Saturday, July 29, 10 a.m., at the Cicmanec-Pier Funeral Home in Lusk. Pastor Mark Lohr officiated. Interment followed in the Lusk Cemetery.
Lucille was born on March 8, 1915, at Colome, South Dakota the third child of Hardy Wilson and Minnie McCleerey Morgan. The family lived in eastern South Dakota where Mr. Morgan farmed, worked in road construction and broke horses. The family moved to Niobrara County, Wyoming in 1927.
She married Kenneth Erlewine on July 31, 1937, and they resided in Lusk. The couple had three children - one daughter, Sheila, and two sons, Philip and Sam.
Lucille was employed at the Ben Franklin Store in Lusk for many years. She placed her family and friends above her needs and was always ready with words of encouragement. In recent years she used her talent as a seamstress to make country items that became well known at craft shows throughout the Midwest and Rocky Mountain states. She loved to read, spend time with her family and travel.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one son, one brother and one sister.
She is survived by her daughter, Sheila Dickey of Wellington, Colorado; her son Sam Erlewine of Lusk, and one brother Voyne (Bud) Morgan of Lusk as well as numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Vern Modine, Gene Lenz, Ernie Lemons, Allen Hineman, Steve Kant and Dennis Green.
A memorial has been established to the Hospice of Larimer County, 7604 Colland Drive, Fort Collins, Colorado 80525.
Cicmanec-Pier Funeral Home in Lusk was in charge of funeral arrangements.
