Services for Martin George Glandt, 86, were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 25, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Lusk with Pastor Harold King officiating. Mr. Glandt died February 21, 1995, at the Westward Heights Nursing Home in Lander after a lengthy illness.

He was born August, 1908, in Meadow Grove, Nebraska, to Peter J. and Katherina (Werner) Glandt. He moved to Jay Em, Wyoming, in 1913 with his parents, residing on a homestead and attended school there.

He married Meta C. Klemke June 6, 1929, in Lingle. In 1933 they moved to Niobrara County seven miles northwest of Lusk, living there for 13 years. In 1947 they purchased a farm south of Lusk and remained active in ranching and farming and dairy business. They retired in 1974 but remained on the farm until August of 1994. At that time, ill health required the move to Lander to be nearer their daughter, Mrs. Jeanette Baltes of Riverton.

Mr. Glandt was an active member in the Lutheran Church. He was past chairman of the Niobrara Senior Center. He served 17 years on the Niobrara County ASC Committee. He served several years on the Farmers Home Administration Committee and was a member and past President of the Farm Bureau. Mr. Glandt enjoyed reading, watching television and his farm.

Survivors include his daughter, Jeanette Baltes of Riverton; two sons, Dean of Cheyenne and Ronald of Golden, Colorado; one brother, Herman Glandt of Torrington; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Meta, in October 1994; five brothers and one sister.

Interment will follow the services at the Lusk City Cemetery. Memorials to the Niobrara County Senior Center or St. Paul's Lutheran Church would be equally appreciated by the family.

Memorials may also be left at the Bader Funeral Home in Lusk, since Bader Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
