Former Lusk resident, Marian Hammond, died on September 8, 2000, in Brawley, California. She was born in Mason City, Iowa, on July 14, 1929. Marian and her husband, Bill (former mayor of Lusk), owned and operated Niobrara TV and Radio for many years before retirement and relocation to Yuma, Ariz. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Pam Hammond, of Brawley, Calif., daughter and son-in-law, Kris and Kelly Ward, of Bixby, Okla., and daughter and son-in-law Karla and Danny Smith, of Ankeny, Iowa.
She is also survived by two brothers, Robert of Elma, Iowa, and Harry of Strawberry Point, Iowa; two sisters, Esther of Versailles, Miss., and June of Elma, Iowa; four grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Bill and son, Mark. Interment was at the Lusk Cemetery.
