Dale Edward Fernau

Dale Edward Fernau was born November, 20, 1916 in Lusk, Wyoming. He died February 15, 1986 in Mesa, Arizona.

Dale was the 7th of 14 children, graduating from Lusk, Wyoming High School in 1935. He married Josephine Spearman September 2, 1939, and to this union 2 children were born, Dale and Dotty. He served in World War II from 1944-1946. They moved to Crawford in April, 1941.

He and Jo were involved in the retail grocery business in Crawford from June, 1949 until August 1973.

He was a strong supporter of youth activities and the City of Crawford, where he served as a member of the City Counsel.

He was a member of the Crawford Congregational Church and served there as deacon.

Important things in his life included his friends, sports, nature, and his hobbies (Rock Hunting and Jewelry making), Most important of all, however, was his family. He lived for his kids and grandchildren.

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge since May 24, 1951

Survivors include one brother, Walt Fernau and 1 sister, Betty Morgan, of Lusk, Wyoming; 1 sister Bonnie Bartlett, of Denver, Colorado; two grandsons and numerous nieces and nephews, along with his spouse Jo and both children, Dale Fernau and Dotty Cunningham, now living in Mesa, Arizona.

Services were held Wednesday at the Crawford Congregational Church with interment in the Crawford cemetery. The Rev. Bob Brauninger officiated. The family invites memorials to the American Heart Association thru the Crawford State Bank.
