Pauline V. Fernau, long time Lusk resident and wife of the late Harry Fernau, died at Casper Memorial Hospital Sunday. Funeral service was being held this Wednesday afternoon at the Peet Chapel at 2:00 with the Rev. Fred Bolinger and Lusk Rebecca Lodge officiating.
Mrs. Edna DeCastro organist was accompanying Tim Johnson as he sang: In the Garden" and "Precious Lord Take my Hand." Casket bearers were to be Kester Akers, Roscoe Kilmer, Ramon Jenkins, Lloyd Coleman, L. T. Bonner and Herb Klindt. Burial was to be in the Lusk Cemetery. Memorials have been established to the Heart Fund and Nursing Home.
Pauline V. Porter was born March 10, 1906, the daughter of James and Minnie Porter at Litchfield, Neb. She was one of 11 children. The family moved to Lance Creek and then the Lusk area in1922. She married Harry M. Fernau November 12, 1925. They were the parents of four children, Harry J.; Louise, Russell and Richard. The couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this past November.
Mrs. Fernau was very active in the community, being a member of the First Baptist Church of Lusk, Past Noble Grand of the Lusk Rebecca Lodge and Past Worthy Matron of Niobrara Chapter #26 Order of the Eastern Star. Never being employed outside the home, she was a loving wife and mother.
Survivors include two sons, Harry Jr., Lusk and Richard, Lovell: daughter Louise Niles, Cheyenne: 11 grandchildren : one great-grandson: seven sisters, Floy Douglas and Lola Blackmore, Alliance, Neb., Opal Yates, Mayme Cox and Enid Kraus, San Diego, Calif., Billie Clark, Lancaster, Calif. And Dorothy Hockett, Gillette.
She was preceded in death by her husband: son Russell: her parents: two brothers and one sister.
