Larry K. Gropp
Funeral services for Larry K. Gropp were held December 23, 1997, in Phoenix, AZ. Larry died from a blood clot to the heart after a serious automobile accident.
He was born in Rivers, Manitoba, Canada, where his father was a pilot in the Air Force.
At four, he and his family moved to Montana and was raised on a grain farm.
Larry was active in school and sports during his high school years. Later he graduated with a BA in Business from Montana State University and a BS in Economics from Colorado State University. He and his wife, Kathy, moved to Arizona.
They were later divorced, and Larry resided in Phoenix for the last twenty years.
Larry enjoyed being in "Big Brothers" organization in Colorado and Arizona. He was also involved in Jaycees, Elks and church groups.
He was acting governor of International Toastmasters in 1989-90.
Survivors include his parents, Ken and Betty Gropp, brother Gordon Gropp, sister Keni Cundall, Ron Cundall nieces Shyla, Shawnda and Kali Cundall of Lusk, Wyo. and sister Edie Wieland, Butch Wieland and nephew Kole Wieland of Sheridan, WY, and niece Tia Gropp of Cheyenne, Wyo.
A scholarship is being set up by the two colleges where Larry tutored. Larry spent many enjoyable hours tutoring college students in accounting and math.
