Graveside services for Frank Fero, 84, were held Saturday, Oct. 6 at the Douglas Park Cemetery in Douglas with the Rev. Harry B. Randall III officiating. The Samuel Mares American Legion Post No. 8 conducted military rites at the service. Converse Funeral Chapel was in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Fero passed away at his home in Douglas Oct. 3. He was born April 24, 1900 at Kingston, Wisconsin, the son of Alford and Vinnie Fero. He received his education at Kingston. He entered the U. S. Navy in 1918 and received special training playing the trumpet with the U. S. Navy band.

Mr. Fero married Ruth Elizabeth Roembach on Nov. 24, 1919 in Wisconsin. They moved to Wyoming following his discharge and homesteaded on Walker Creek in Converse County. He became a band teacher in the Douglas schools during the early 1930's and later taught band in Lusk, Manville, Chugwater, Glendo, and Harrison, Nebr. He also conducted a musical therapy course at the penitentiary in Rawlins. Mr. Fero retired in 1963 and the couple lived in Glendo for a few years, moving to Douglas in the early 1970's where they had since made their home. Mr. Fero also raised thoroughbred race horses.

Survivors include his wife of the family home in Douglas, one son Rexford of Layton, Utah; two daughters-Pat Campbell of Sheridan and Shirley Castor of Gillette; two sisters, Maxine Hall of Wash. and Bess Walker of Calif.; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. One son Jack preceded his father in death.

Memorials to the Irwin Towers in Douglas would be appreciated by the family.

The Converse Funeral Chapel was in charge of the arrangements.
