Sarah Elizabeth Jordan Hartman

Sarah Elizabeth Jordan Hartman, 93, died Tuesday, Dec. 21, 1999, at the Niobrara Memorial Hospital in Lusk.

Sarah was born Aug. 6, 1906, to Robert E. and Oressa M. (Hunter) Jordan in Sioux County Nebraska, where she made her home for most of her life. The last six years she lived at the Niobrara County Nursing Home in Lusk.

She married Elmer "Hap" Sankey July 28, 1932. They had two children, Bobbee and Jack. Sarah married Rudy Hartman June 3, 1950.

She is survived by her sister, Bernice Sampont of Silverton, Idaho; her son, Jack Sankey of Milwauki, Ore.; four grand daughters, Leslie Baalcom of Wheatland, Chris Thayer of Lusk, Kathy Jo Magan of Umatilla, Fla., and Sarah Elizabeth Sankey of Milwauki, Ore.; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Cremation has taken place as Sarah requested. A memorial service was held Jan. 5, 2000, at St. Leo's Catholic Church in Lusk. Contributions may be made to either the Niobrara County Memorial Nursing Home or the Bodarc Cemetery.
