Delphine Hawkins Died

The funeral for Delphine Hawkins, 61, was Saturday in Lusk at the First Baptist Church. The Rev. Ronald Marshall officiated.

Mrs. Hawkins was born Sept. 24, 1916 in White Cloud, Kan., to Floyd and Elsie Black Kendall. She was educated in schools in Rulo, Neb.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Powell and of the Rebecca Lodge of Lusk. She had resided for 37 years in the Lance Creek area before moving to Torrington in 1975.

She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth who died in November 1975.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Clarence (Delores) Baker of Torrington and one son, Richard Hawkins of Casper. Two sisters, Evelyn Yost of Harvard, Neb., and Betty Brehm also of Harvard survive along with two grandchildren.

She was buried in the Lusk Cemetery. Memorials may be sent to the Diabetic Foundation or the Niobrara Nursing Home.

Pallbearers were Paul Petty, Otto Krekeler, James Fisher, Alva Connolly, Joe Cox and Joe France. Honorary pallbearer was Woodson Graham.

Several from Lance Creek attended funeral services for Mrs. Kenneth (Delphine) Hawkins in Lusk Saturday morning at the First Baptist Church. The Hawkins family lived in Lance Creek for 37 years where he was employed by the Ohio Marathon Oil company. Following his retirement in 1968, the couple moved to Powell. Mr. Hawkins died several years ago and Mrs. Hawkins moved to Torrington.
