Arthur J. Renzelman

Arthur J. Renzelman, 87, of Ravenna, Neb. formerly of Lusk, died Monday, May 1, 2006 at the Good Samaritan Center in Ravenna.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 3, 2006, at Rasmussen Mortuary in Ravenna. Rev. Doug DeNeui will officiate. Graveside Services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 5, 2006, at the Lusk Cemetery in Lusk Wyoming with Pastor Mark Lohr officiating.

Arthur J. Renzelman was born January 26, 1919, on the family homestead near Wray, Colo., to Henry Renzelman, Jr. and Mary (Smith) Renzelman.

He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith. He received his education at Graham School, District 10 near his farm home.

He served in the United States Marine Corp during World War II from May 3, 1945-Aug. 14, 1946, where he obtained the rank of Private First Class.

He married Darlene Hendricks on June 30, 1960, in Douglas.

Arthur worked as a Deputy Sheriff in Converse County before becoming a police officer for the city of Lusk, Wyoming for twelve years. He then became Chief of Police for Lusk until he retired in 1983.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, James and Lana (Wilke) Renzelman of Hazard, Neb., stepson, Ron Wilmes of Jeffrey City, stepdaughter and her husband, Deb (Wilmes) and Danny Scott of Lusk, nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Darlene, brothers, Raymond, Albert and Louis and sisters, Cecil and Sarah.

Cicmanec-Pier Funeral Home in Lusk is in charge of the local arrangements.
