Helen Barbara (Johnson) Good

Helen Barbara (Johnson) Good, age 92, graduated to Heaven on Saturday March 11, 2006. She died of complications from pneumonia at the Niobrara Health and Life Center in Lusk.

Helen was born Nov. 6, 1913, in Spalding, Neb., to Nels C. and Barbara Johnson. Her family moved to Lingle in 1928. She graduated from Lingle High School.

She married Raymond S. Good on Oct. 6, 1941. They were married 40 years and lived in Pine Bluffs area during all of those years.

Helen was known for her commitment to God and worked through the years to share her belief with others to help them learn about Jesus love and to help others come to know salvation. She was active in the Lindberg Baptist Church until it closed. In Lindberg church, she was a core member of the Ladies Aide, which helped establish the Ladies Aide in the Pine Bluffs Baptist Church. She and Raymond then began attending the Albin Baptist Church. She taught Sunday School for the preschool ages there for many years. She led Bible study groups in the Golden Prairie community for many years. After moving from their farm to Pine Bluffs, they joined with the Pine Bluffs Baptist Church family. Helen was active in the Christian Women's work until she moved to Manville in 2003.

After moving to her daughter Dorothy's home in 2003, her outside contacts were limited. However, her loving spirit and commitment to God continued as she lifted up her voice in prayer for others to learn of the love of God. Everyone who had contact with Helen soon learned to love her. Her loving smile won everyone's heart.

Her husband, Raymond, and infant son, and her parents, preceded her in death.

She is survived by her daughters Dorothy (Bill) Behrends and Sharon (Dallas) Wiseman; four grandchildren, Heather (Behrends) Haynes and husband Jason, Aaron Behrends and wife Sarah, Nicole Wiseman and Mandi Wiseman; eight great-grandchildren; her sisters, Marie Meeks of California and Anna Belle Magonigal of Alabama. Many loving nieces and nephews and a host of friends survive her.

Mom, grandma, sister, aunt and friend, we love you and miss you but are celebrating your move to heaven. We are looking forward to seeing you there.

A memorial service will be held at a later date in Pine Bluffs.
