Peter Henry Family Settles Near Ardmore

Peter Henry was born in Germany July 25, 1842 and came with his family to America when a small child to settle in Wisconsin.

On June 9, 1868, he married Marie Joechs in Grant, Wis. They moved to Columbus, Neb., and in 1887 came west to Sioux County settling near Ardmore, S.D., where he raised his family.

Mrs. Henry died Dec. 3, 1904 and Mr. Henry in October 1924 and are buried in Pioneer Cemetery in Sioux County on the John Gieser ranch.

Of their family two children, Gustav Oscor and Bertha died and are buried at Pioneer Cemetery, and a son John at Montrose

Of the other children: Peter married Emma Olson and later Minnie Brandt; Jake married Agusta Dulick and later Fanny Rechstein; Walter married Marie Heumier; Lillian married a Mr. Ebert; Arthur married Clara Wood; Edward married Mayne McAleer; Chris married Stella Zuehliki.
