Funeral services for Hazel I. Hansen, 89, were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 28, 1992, at St. George's Episcopal Church in Lusk, with Rev. Richard Kalber officiating. Interment was in the Lusk Cemetery.

Hansen died Wednesday, March 25 at Wyoming Medical Center in Casper. She was born Oct. 12, 1902, in Central City, S.D., to John Richard and Maude (Houston) Anderson. She moved with her family to a homestead near Node, Wyo., at the age of eight.

She married Morten Frederick Hansen Sept. 28, 1921. Their first home was in Node and they later moved to Lusk where they lived for many years and raised their family.

Hansen moved to the Glenrock Senior Apartments in 1987 to be closer to her daughters and families. In 1990, she was forced by ill health to make her home with her daughter, Hazel and husband in Glenrock. She lived there until her death.

She was a member of St. George's Episcopal Church in Lusk for many years and the Guild. She was a member of Fancy Farmers Garden Club, Tumbleweed Club, The Niobrara Senior Center and the Glenrock Senior Citizens' Center. She was well known for her love of all kinds of crafts, embroidery, crocheting and the love of raising African Violets.

Memorials to St. George's Episcopal Church in Lusk or to the Glenrock Senior Citizens' Center, or to the donor's choice, would be appreciated by the family.

Hansen is survived by three daughters; Velma Jackson of Evansville, Hazel Nelson of Glenrock and Marjorie Lee of Billings, Mont.; 10 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1979, her parents and two sisters.

Bader-Peet Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
