Allen W. Heins

Allen W. Heins, age 77, of Manville, died on Nov. 12 in Douglas. A funeral was held at 10:30 a.m. on Nov. 17 at the Cicmanec-Pier Funeral Home in Lusk. Interment followed at the Dellview Cemetery in Manville.

Allen was born to Leo Christian and Hedwich Emma Miller Heins on Dec. 7, 1926 at Keeline. He was raised on the ranch south of Keeline and graduated from Manville High School in 1944. In 1946 he enlisted in the Army and was stationed at Fort Lewis Washington. He was honorably discharged from the Army as a Sergeant. Allen ranched southwest of Keeline and also served as a brand inspector, served on the Predator Board for 30 years and sheared sheep.

He was preceded in death by his wife Joann; son Randy L. Canaday and his parents.

Allen is survived by his sisters Alma Gaukel of Lakewood, Colo., and Wilma Baldwin of Torrington; sons Cody E. Heins of Powell, Robert A. Heins, Donald D. Heins, Bill Canaday of Cheyenne, Johnny L. Canaday of Toledo, Ohio; daughters Wynona Panchot of Douglas, Tammy Lee Spicer of Idaho Falls, Idaho and Beverly Jo Lashmett; his fiancé Lucille Emery of Douglas; Joe Netz of Lost Springs; 14 grandchildren, three great grandchildren, six nieces and nephews, 11 great nieces and nephews and seven great-great nieces and nephews.

A memorial has been established to the family.
