Services for Ed Hesco, 89, will be held Friday, July 26, 1991, at 10 a.m. at Peet Mortuary Chapel.

Memorials to the Niobrara County Memorial Hospital will be appreciated by the family.

Services for Ed J. Hesco, 89, were held Friday, July 26, 1991, at 10 a.m. at Peet Mortuary Chapel in Lusk with Rev. Delbert Dick officiating. Burial followed in the Lusk Cemetery.

Hesco died Tuesday, July 23, 1991, at the Niobrara County Memorial Hospital in Lusk. He was born June 14, 1902, in South Bend, Ind., the son of John and Helen Hesco.

He came to Wyoming from Indiana by horseback at the age of 18. He was on his way to Nevada but his horse went lame in the Hat Creek area. As he used to tell the story, "my horse got well, but by then I'd decided to stay." He ranched in the area for more than 60 years.

He was active in the community as a 4-H leader and many people enjoyed his guitar and accordion music as a member of the "Rawhiders" dance band.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie.

Survivors include one son, John Hesco, of Greybull, Wyo.; one daughter, Shirley Hammontree of Modesto, Calif.; one sister, Hattie Kolski of Niles, Mich.; six grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.

Memorials to the Niobrara County Memorial Hospital will be appreciated by the family.
