Muriel J. Hammond
Muriel J. Hammond of Loveland, Colorado, died at McKee Medical Center in Loveland on January 26 at the age of 82.
Mrs. Hammond was born May 10, 1912, in Fort Collins, Colorado, to Jasper and Dena (Pedersen) Jensen. She was married to Kenneth McFadden Hammond on September 3, 1931, in Fort Collins.
Mrs. Hammond was a homemaker and her husband worked for Conoco. The Hammonds lived in several places in Wyoming, Texas and Louisiana before retiring to Brush, Colorado, in 1967. They lived in Lance Creek from 1938 to 1950, then returned for a second time in the late 1950's, before moving to Linch and finally to Brush.
Mrs. Hammond was an avid artist and gardener, and was active in the Brush Grey Ladies for 17 years.
Mrs. Hammond was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth, and by her brothers, Arthur, Elmer, and Neil Jensen.
She is survived by her sons- Ralph K. Hammond and his wife, Donna, of Loveland, and Jack W. Hammond and his wife, Carolyn, of Lance Creek; five grandchildren - Jay Hammond and wife, Leslie, of Lusk, Laurie Lillefjaere and husband, Inge of Skien, Norway, Julie Hodge and husband, Mike, of Glendale, California, Lisa Hampton and husband, Van, of Casper, and Sherri Gilkerson and husband, Marc, of LaMesa, New Mexico; and seven great-grandchildren.
Memorial services were conducted January 28, at All Saint's Episcopal Church in Loveland, Colorado, by Father Jim Paul. Kibbey-Fishburn Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
