Gertrude Delsing Foley
Gertrude J. Delsing Foley was born to William and Matilda Delsing in Dawes County, Nebraska on July 29, 1898. She married Hugh V. Foley on September 29, 1925 in Bridget's Catholic Church in Hemingford, NE. To this union three children were born, Edward, Catherine, and Philip D.
Mrs. Foley died in Lusk, Wyoming on Sunday April 25, 1993 at Niobrara Memorial County Memorial Hospital at age 94.
During her lifetime she attended school at Chadron State College and was an alumnus of the University of Wyoming. She taught school for many years in Hemingford and the surrounding area rural schools.
She was a life long member of St. Bridget's Catholic Church and the Alter Society having served in all capacities of this organization. In the earlier years she belonged to the Chain and the CCW; and also the Legion of Many. She was a charter member of the Economy club.
She was preceded in death by her parents: her husband, her son Edward, and Granddaughter Diane, one brother and five sisters.
She is survived by: her daughter Catherine Brillhart of Lusk, and son Don and wife Barb Foley of Hemingford, NE.: four grandchildren, Ed and wife Barb Rapp of Lusk, Lori Wilson of Lusk, Duane and wife Alisha Foley of Littleton, Colorado, and Bruce Foley of Bozeman, MT. Ten great grandchildren , numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Mass of Christian Burial was at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 18, 1993 at St. Bridget's Catholic Church in Hemingford, Neb. Rosary was at 7 p.m., Tuesday, April 27, 1993 at St. Bridget's Catholic Church.
