Allan Fosher Dies Friday

Funeral services for Mathias Allan Fosher, 70, were held in Torrington, Monday at the Coyler Funeral Home, with the Rev. George Davis officiating. Graveside services were conducted by Travis Post No. 5 American Legion. Burial was in the Valley View cemetery at Torrington.

Mr. Fosher died Friday at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Cheyenne, following a lingering illness.

Mathias Allan Fosher, the eldest son of Mathias and Mollie Fosher was born May 11, 1896 at McCook, Nebr. He came to Lander, Wyo. with his family the same year, where they resided until 1907, moving to Bassett, Nebr. He attended school at Bassett. In 1914 the family came to Wyoming and made their home south of Manville, where he lived until 1962, when he and his family moved to Torrington.

He married Elizabeth Larsen June 3, 1928.

Mr. Fosher served in the US Navy in World War I as a 2/C Seaman, and was a member of the Methodist Church.

He is survived by his widow, Elizabeth, a son Dan and a daughter, Betty Irish, five grandchildren and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by a brother Thomas, his parents, and a brother Harold who died October 28 in Lusk.
