May Houchin, 91, Dies in Ogallala

Funeral services for May Houchin, 91, of Ogallala, Nebr., were held July 14, at Ogallala. She died at the Indian Hills Manor Nursing Home, July 12.

She developed pneumonia last December and on May 14 suffered a light stoke, but recovered from both enough that she was able to leave the home and spend several days at a time at the home of a son, Marion Houchin and a daughter Pauline Deines.

In 1897 she married Archie Houchin. They made their home in Nebraska until 1928 when they came to Wyoming. Until 1958 they lived around Manville and Lusk. After Mr. Houchin suffered a severe heart attack they moved to Ogallala to be near their children. They remained there 10 months and moved to Cheyenne to make their home with Mrs. Ruth Pearce Buzard, another daughter.

After Mr. Houchin's death in 1962, Mrs. Houchin continued living with Mrs. Buzard until July 1967 when she moved back to Ogallala.

Survivors include one son, Marion Houchin, Ogallala; three daughters, Gertrude Gifford, Santa Monica, Calif., Ruth Buzard, Cheyenne, and Pauline Deines of Ogallala; five grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
