Mary Lucille Hytrek

Funeral services for Mary Lucille Hytrek, age 82, longtime Lusk resident, will be at 10:00 AM Friday, December 11 at the Bader Funeral Home in Lusk with Pastor Tom Strock of the First Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in the Lusk Cemetery.

Mrs. Hytrek died Saturday, Dec. 5 at the Niobrara County Nursing Home. She was born June 7, 1916 to Maude (Runyan) and Grant "Kid" Outhouse in Flattop, Wyoming. She attended rural school in the Flattop area before going to high school in Gibbon, Nebr. She married Antone "Tony" Hytrek on February 6, 1936 in Douglas. She worked as a housekeeper for many years and considered herself lucky to have so many "extended family" members.

Mary enjoyed gardening, as well as collecting rocks for her flowerbeds, house plants, needlework, reading and fishing with her family. She also spent many hours watching baseball with her brother. She always had time to spend with her grandchildren and attended as many of their activities as possible. She will be missed by all.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and two brothers.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Delbert Smith of Lusk, five grandchildren, Robert Smith, Randi Ross, Rhonda Butler, Roxi Knopp and Cindy Mainli, eleven great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

For those who wish, memorials to the Lusk Senior Center will be appreciated by the family. Bader Funeral Home of Lusk is in charge of arrangements.
