Irma Hargrove Kirlin, 84, of Evanston died at her home Sept. 2, 1996. Funeral services will be at Crandall Funeral Home in Evanston Thursday, Sept. 5, 1996, at 10 a.m. Burial will take place in the Lusk Cemetery Friday, Sept. 6 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations are to the Uinta County Senior Citizens Center.

She was born, Jan. 15, 1912 in Lusk to George and Olive (Berggren) Hargrove.

She and her sister, Olive grew up as twins and both graduated from Lusk High in 1929. They spent their early life at Hat Creek, where both went to a rural school for eight years. She graduated from the University of Wyoming in 1943. She taught school in Wyoming for 40 years, and her teaching affected at least 1,800 pupils. She retired in 1970.

She married Leo M. Kirlin May 29, 1945, in Laramie. She has lived in Evanston since 1945. Her many interests included fishing and needlepoint.

Survivors include step-children and their spouses Loretta and Herman DeYoung of Hartley, Iowa, and Carl "Bud" and Phyllis Kirlin of Mesa, Ariz.; nephew and spouse Bruce and Rose Hargrave of Casper; and niece and spouse Deann and Fred Alonzo of Tucson, Ariz. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and one sister.
