Virginia C. Kaper

Services for Virginia C. Kaper, age 77, will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday in the Peet Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Scott Grimshaw officiating. Burial will follow in the Lusk Cemetery.

Mrs. Kaper died early Monday morning, August 14, 1989, at the West Nebraska General Hospital in Scottsbluff. She was born January 7, 1912, in Omaha, Nebraska, the daughter of E. Vera (Houts) and John F. Hinrichsen. At the age of six, she came to Wyoming in a covered wagon with her parents, a brother Fred who was 4, and a sister Florence who was 2. The family homesteaded south of Lance Creek. She married James Kaper on February 10, 1933, and they farmed and ranched around Manville until moving to Minatare, Nebraska in 1955 where they farmed for five years before moving into Minatare.

Mrs. Kaper enjoyed remodeling, gardening, flowers, hand crafts and sewing.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Fred, and infant daughter Fayetta, and two nephews, Donald Haberman and Douglas Hinrichsen.

Survivors include her husband James of Gering, Nebraska; a daughter Vanetta Weatherford of Casper; two sisters Florence Haberman and Hazel Cundall both of Casper; a brother Donald of Mokane, Missouri; a granddaughter Ramona Cook of Lusk, a grandson Jake Smith of Casper and four great-grandchildren.

Peet Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
