Services for Mrs. Klemke Last Thursday
Funeral services for Mrs. Walter L. Klemke, 71, were held at the Peet Mortuary in Lusk, March 4 at 2:00 p.m., with the Rev. Beaufred Anderson of St. Paul's Evangelical Church officiated. Mrs. Klemke died at the Casper hospital February 28.
Mrs. Dave Leimser, organist, accompanied soloist Bill Huey as he sang "Beautiful Isle", "Rock of Ages" and "I Know That My Redeemer Liveth."
Casket bearers were grandsons, Roger Lemons, David Boyd, Matt Huckfeldt, Ken Macy; and Del Alter and Bill Magoon. Burial was in the Lusk Cemetery.
Nora Eva Tweedy was born July 28, 1899, to Albert and Mary Grace Tweedy in Lebanon, Ind. She was raised and received her education at Marion, Mich., and was baptized in the Methodist Church when an infant.
She came to Wyoming in 1918 to stay with her aunt, Faye Heumier, and teach school. She taught school for two years before she married Walter Leo Klemke on April 28, 1920, at Lusk. They were the parents of five daughters, who were raised on the Klemke Dairy northwest of Lusk. Mrs. Klemke was an active member of the family never too busy to milk the cows or deliver milk in the 24 years the dairy was operated. She always grew a large garden and had many flowers.
She was confirmed in the Lutheran faith at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, September 10, 1922, when the church was at Node, Wyo. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Mr. and Mrs. Klemke celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary on Sunday, April 26, 1970, at the Lutheran Church parlors in Lusk.
Survivors include her widower, Walter, of the family home; daughters, Mrs. Maxey (Lenora) Wallace, Richmond, Va.; Mrs. Fred (Doris) Huckfeldt, Rock River, Wyo.; Mrs. Leonard (Helen) DeGering, Lusk; Mrs. Rick (Esther) Gilbreath, Central Point, Ore.; Mrs. Earnest (Alma Grace) Lemons, Lusk; 11 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ralph Tweedy, Freeport, Mich.; Kenneth Tweedy, Marion, Mich.; two sisters, Mrs. Marguerite Traynor, Newberry, Mich.; Mrs. Blanche Elliott, Forest Grove, Ore., and an aunt, Mrs. Charles Heumier of Lusk.

Mrs. Walter L. Klemke, 71, Lusk, died February 28 at the Casper hospital following a short illness. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 this Thursday from the Peet Mortuary, with the Rev.
