Margaret Lewis

Services for Margaret Lewis, 88, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 12, 1996, at the Colyer Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary Flom officiating. The casket will be closed. Burial will be in the Harrison, Nebr. cemetery at 2 p.m. with missionary Delbert Dick officiating.

She died at her home July 8, 1996, after an extended illness.

She was born Jan. 21, 1908, at Harrison to Frederick William and Catherine (Beck) Hebner and she attended school in Sioux County, Neb. graduating in 1926.

She attended Chadron Normal School and taught several years in Sioux and Goshen counties. She married Thomas Clarke Lewis July 4, 1929.

She belonged to Prairie Center Extension Club since 1929; Help One Another Club, Senior Friendship Center, was a 4-H leader for Eden Valley; and was a member of the Cowbell's. She helped organize a Sunday school with missionary Delbert Dick at Plum Creek in 1966. She was a member of the Harrison Methodist Church for 65 years.

Survivors include her daughter June Sauls Johnson of The Dalles, Ore.; one son Charles F. Lewis of Denver, Colo.; sisters Rose Lewis of Van Tassel and Katherine Knight of Fair Oaks, Calif.; grandchildren Margaret Davis of Wamic, Ore., Karen and Mike Lewis of Tampa, Fla.; Bryan and Lori Lewis of Las Vegas, NM; four great grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1975; son Thomas W. Lewis in 1952 and one grandchild.
