Lester Leroy Lewis

Services for Lester L. Lewis, 74, of Van Tassell were held Tuesday, March 22, 1988 at Peet Mortuary Chapel in Lusk. Rev. Delbert Dick officiated. Burial was in the Harrison Cemetery. He died March 18 at the Torrington Community Hospital.

Lewis was born July 12, 1913 to Charles and Laura Seegrist Lewis at the Lewis homestead six miles south of Van Tassell. He married Rose Hebner on June 21, 1935. To this union were born three children. Most of his life was spent ranching and farming in the Van Tassel area.

Survivor include his wife, Rose; two sons , Jerald of Lusk and Melvin of Laredo, TX.; one daughter, Linda Freese of Kingston, ID; nine grandchildren and one great-grandson; two sisters, Ruby Hebner of Las Vegas, NV and Gladys Moyer of South Gate, CA.; and one brother, Archie Lewis of Ft. Collins, CO.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Lawrence Lewis.

Memorials to the Niobrara County Historical Society in care of the Security National Bank of Harrison would be appreciated by the family.
