Jessie C. Liberty

Graveside services for Jessie C. Liberty, age 95, were held at 10 a.m. Saturday Feb. 6 in the Lusk Cemetery with Reverend Patrick Shea of St. Leo's Catholic Church officiating.

Mrs. Liberty died Wednesday, February 3, 1999 at the Goshen Care Center in Torrington. She was born January 21, 1904 near Crawford, Nebr., the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Craig.

Jessie married Archie R. Liberty on October 6, 1924, in Hiawatha, Kans. Archie worked for Marathon Oil for 35 years and upon his retirement in 1965, he and Jessie moved to Lusk. Archie preceded her in death in September of 1996

Mrs. Liberty was a resident of Evergreen Court in Torrington from April, 1991 to January 1999. She enjoyed talking about her family and participating in various activities such as bingo and crafts. She was a delightful lady to those who knew her and will be missed by her family and by the residents and staff of Evergreen Court.

Jessie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Archie and one daughter, Evelyn Liberty Vollmer.

Survivors include two sons, George W. Liberty of Guernsey, and Robert A. Liberty of Evanston, Wyo., plus numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Bader Funeral Home of Lusk was in charge of arrangements.
