Russell R. Lincoln

Russell R. Lincoln was born May 16, 1908 in Gove County, Kans., the son of Joshua and Mary Orten Lincoln. He spent his early life in Kansas. As a young man he moved to Wyoming. He was married to Beulah Welch on June 39, 1935 at Casper.

Mr. Lincoln lived in Lusk in the 1930's and worked for Joe Kuhn with the Railroad Express Agency north of the Silver Cliff Hotel. He moved to Oregon in 1941, first living near Mt. Rainier where he worked as an auto mechanic. During World War II he worked in the shipyards and then returned to working as an auto mechanic. In 1959, he moved to California, living in Redwood City and the Bay area until his retirement in 1973.

He and his wife spent two years working for the Optomists Club as caretakers for their camp at San Gregario, Calif. and he was made an honorary lifetime member of the Optomists for his work. He moved to Forest Grove in 1976 and had lived in the Forest Grove and Cornelius communities for the past seven years. He loved to travel.

Surviving is his wife, Mrs. Beulah Lincoln of Cornelius; four children, Mrs. Don (Barbara) O'Rear of Cornelius; Sandy Lincoln, Hillsboro; Michael, Half Moon Bay, Calif. and Patrick of Pleasanton, Calif.; a brother, Bill Lincoln of Lusk; a sister Mrs. Emery (Fanny) Gaukel of Keeline and 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
