Joseph Lynn Milke
Joseph Lynn Milke, 43, of Greeley died Sept. 14, 2004, in an accident while swimming in Longboat Key in Florida.
Born June 22, 1961, in Plainville, Kan., to Clarence and Vera Milke, he was baptized and confirmed at Sacred Heart Church in Plainville. In 1977, he moved with his family to Lance Creek, where he attended Niobrara County High School in Lusk. He graduated in 1979.
In 1981, he married Kathy Hester in Lusk. They had three children. They later divorced.
Mr. Milke came to Greeley in 1985 with his three children. He began working at the Greeley Gas Co. in April 1987.
While working at Greeley Gas Co., he met Nancy Dahlgren and her daughter, Jessica. Nancy and Joe were married July 28, 1990, in Ault.
Spending time with his family was Mr. Milke's top priority. He also loved to vacation. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, camper, boatman and golfer.
Mr. Milke also donated his time and money to family, friends and organizations.
Survivors are his wife Nancy Ann Milke of Greeley; two sons Zachary and Joseph Milke both of Greeley; two daughters Jessica Riegel of Orlando, Fla., and Sarah Milke of Greeley; his parents Clarence and Vera Milke of Hays, Kan.; a brother Rodney Milke and wife Lori and their three children Ben, Matthew and Emilie all of Hays; five brothers-in-law John, Ron, Kenny, Paul and Gary Dahlgren and their wives; his mother-in-law Gertrude Dahlgren; and six nieces and two nephews.
A sister-in-law Susan Dahlgren, who lived in Peoria, Ill., and his father-in-law John Robert Dahlgren, are deceased.
