Frank Mahnke

Frank Mahnke was born on Sept. 10, 1904 in Sioux City, Iowa, the son of William and Anne Christson Mahnke. He died Nov. 22, 1984 at Niobrara County Nursing Home in Lusk.

He came to Wyoming in 1913 and was reared on a homestead south of Keeline. Following his marriage to Hulda Esther Miller, they lived in Casper for eight years and then moved to a ranch west of Keeline where he lived until he entered the nursing home a year and a half ago.

Mahnke was engaged in farming and ranching most of his life. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his wife Hulda, of Keeline, two sons Donald Fred Mahnke of Casper and Daniel Richard Mahnke of Keeline, one daughter Frances Lucille Park of Tioga, N. Dak., three sisters Helen Clemons of Erie, Colo., Margaret Briscoe, Kaycee and Catherine of Colo., two brothers Henry of Denver and Arthur of Lusk, eleven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one grandson.

Services for Frank Mahnke were held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Lusk on Nov. 27, 1984.

Officiating was Rev. Beauford Anderson.

Music was by Ruth Hahn, organist and Liz Henderson and Carolyn Metcalf who sang "23rd Psalm" and "I Know That My Redeemer Lives."

Pallbearers were Robert Miller, Edward Baldwin, Kenneth Wright, Keith Wright, Floyd Engerbretsen and Allen Heins.

Honorary pallbearers were Martin Glandt, Wilmer Baars, Tony Mayer, Bob Mayler, Clarence Mason and Bill Nuttall.
