Tony Marchant was born January 6, 1942, in Lusk, the son of James and Pauline Marchant. He died at the Weston County Manor after a lengthy illness. Spending their first years working on ranches, Tony went to work for Updike Brothers in 1974 where he was a rig operator at the start of his illness in 1979. He spent the remainder of his life at the home of his parents in Newcastle.

He is survived by his parents Jim and Pauline Marchant, his sons Michael and Jacy, his daughters Brenda Townsend and Paula Brown, two sisters Annette Marchant and Jeanette Patik, two granddaughters Brandy Townsend and Elissa Brown and one niece Michelle Patik.
