Floyd J. McLain, 94, died Monday, Oct. 27, 1986 at Lutheran Medical Center in Lakewood, CO.

Services will be Thursday, Oct. 30 at 2 p.m. at Peet Mortuary in Lusk.

Services were held Thursday, Oct. 30, 1986 for Floyd J. McLain, 94. He died Monday, Oct. 27, 1986 at the Lutheran Medical Center in Lakewood, CO.

Rev. Nick Natelli officiated the 2 p.m. service at Peet Mortuary in Lusk.

Mr. McLain was born May 15, 1892 in Royal, NE, the son of George and Caroline Sebock McLain. He was one of five children.

In 1913 he moved to the Lusk area, homesteading five miles south of Lusk in the Royal Valley Community, where his brother Roy and 10 other families from Royal had settled.

He enlisted in the Army in 1917 and fought in World War I, serving for two years. It was while stationed in Staten Island, NY that he met his wife, Nell Gordon. Their marriage lasted until her death in 1970.

He was a member of the American Legion Post in Lusk for many years. He served as treasurer for the school board for about 14 years and was active in community affairs.

He is survived by three daughters: Jean Scheiper of Staten Island, NY, Norma Ward of Manhattan Beach, CA, and Patricia David of Broomfield, CO; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, one grandson, two brothers and two sisters.
